Change is inevitable. As a healthcare professional, you’re aware that rapid change in business and technology is the “new normal.” However, I think “change” is actually too weak of a word to describe it.
It’s all about transformation. This means you can’t go backward, and you can’t stand still. The phrase “that’s the way we’ve always done it” no longer flies. The only way for healthcare organizations to survive is to continuously reinvent and redefine.
Reinvent and redefine what? Everything.
This doesn’t mean we should throw away everything we’ve done in the past. No, instead we need a different approach to the old way of doing things. Really, it’s about trying something completely different to get the results we need. And it doesn’t matter the source or idea. Plenty of people have come up with pretty outlandish inventions. But the fact that they used their knowledge and ingenuity to think of these things is admirable.
Today, there are no more excuses not to use the intelligence we have to the fullest extent. Because we have a lot.
That’s why we’ve decided to re-launch our Action for Better Healthcare blog. We’ve been blogging for years, but we really wanted to give you direct access to what our experts are doing.
You’ll hear from people who work at Premier and are passionate about transforming healthcare. From those working with alliance members to improve quality in their care facilities to those working with providers to create cutting-edge healthcare apps, they’ve all got one thing in common: disrupting the status quo to really make a difference in American healthcare.
The blog is simple and to the point – kind of like this guy who explained healthcare on the back of a napkin.
We like simple, especially when everyone’s working so hard to solve healthcare’s complex problems.
The new blog will cover the topics that keep you up at night:
- Controlling medical supply costs
- Improving quality and safety without increasing costs
- How to get a 360-degree view of patients and their care
- How to make sure to get reimbursed through different incentives
- How to stand out from your peers
- What other healthcare organizations are doing
- How to make decades of stored data usable, searchable and actionable
You’ll also get an insider’s look into life at Premier. We work hard, but we play hard too. From our corporate volunteer days, healthy living programs and green initiatives to our much anticipated annual employee Values Conference, you’ll get to see the fun and crazy things we’re up to.
And we want to hear from you! Tell us what you want to read about and we’ll make sure to cover the topics that are important to you. Don’t forget to tell us what you think in the comments section below.
