Every year, Premier, Inc. brings all employees together at our Values Conference to emphasize our mission and values, learn from one another, recognize the outstanding work we’re doing and align ourselves for the future.
And we’ve been doing this since 1998!
This year we focused on working together as one organization to achieve results and evolve the culture necessary. We also had a lot of fun as we were inspired to get fit. Not just physically fit but also fiscally fit and “Premier fit” (how we’re impacting healthcare from the inside out).
This year’s agenda featured:
- A powerful fireside chat from our president and CEO Susan DeVore and COO Michael Alkire
- Concurrent sessions ranging from topics such as healthcare reform, innovation and professional development
- An inspiring learning session on the culture of accountability
- The Premier Village which showcased our products and provided the opportunity to learn more about our acquired companies
- A panel discussion from leaders at some of our member healthcare organizations
Being able to hear directly from our members that what we’re doing is truly making a difference in the lives of their patients really validated the work we do.
But the fun didn’t stop there. Here are some other highlights:
Our Multicultural Fair gave our employees the opportunity to celebrate the wide variety of cultures that are represented here at Premier. From the Indian, Caribbean, Greek and Ethiopian cuisines to the henna artists and Latin, Indian and Filipino dancing, employees got a glimpse into the cultural backgrounds of their peers.
Premier Gives Back
As part of our Values Conference, we partner with Hands On Charlotte to coordinate a half day of activities to support local nonprofit organizations. This year, 1,000+ employees provided 5,500 hours of service to 24 organizations across the Charlotte area.
From making onesies for the Florence Crittenton Services of North Carolina for at-risk and pregnant girls to trail maintenance at the Anne Springs Close Greenway, employees from all departments and regions came together to give back!
Healthcare needs super heroes. And at this year’s conference, we honored our everyday heroes who truly exemplify Premier’s values, aspiring to achieve the very best personally and professionally for our alliance and members. Nominated by their peers, we honored 6 teams and 19 individual heroes for their commitment to our values. And these heroes are not only recognized in front of everyone at our awards celebration, but they get to take home a nice cash award!
This year has been a great one! The ability to bring together employees (including those from companies that we’ve partnered with) solidifies that we’ve stayed true to our values. Our board and leadership team invest in this conference as a way for employees to grow and learn about both Premier and themselves.
