What does it mean to be a “healthy employer?” Are healthy lunch and snack options available at the office? Are all employees given a new Fitbit? Are employees encouraged to take time to exercise and maintain healthy behaviors through various offerings? Do posters hang around the office encouraging you to take the stairs and not the elevator?
The Charlotte Business Journal recently held its sixth annual Healthiest Employers of Greater Charlotte Awards & Wellness Expo, where they honored 23 local employers who put an extra emphasis on health and wellness programs for their employees. The award recognizes health and wellness programs that score above the national average.
This year, Premier was ranked the third Healthiest Employer in the large company category, making this our sixth year as one of Charlotte Business Journal’s Healthiest Employers!
To Premier, a culture of health and wellness is more than just partaking in an on-site wellness offering – it’s something that affects the entire organization. The benefits of a healthy company culture play a major role in helping employees stay engaged and productive at work (we’re serious!). And we know it’s important to walk the talk, which is why you’ll see Premier employees wearing their FitBits around the office, competing with one another to see who can get the most steps.
